Why conduct background checks?
Background checks are completed for many reasons including compliance with membership, licensing and/or employment laws and regulations. Additionally, employers use background checks to make informed placement decisions, retain the most qualified candidates, and mitigate the risk in selecting the wrong candidate.
Workplace violence, fraud, embezzlement, and theft are a multi-billion dollar drain on our economy, a cost which can be mitigated. Additionally, we live in an electronic world where publicity, particularly negative publicity and headlines spread quickly. The first question posed by media in any workplace violence situation is whether there was a background check — the "wrong" answer can devastate the very foundation of a trusted organisation. Organisations owe it to their employees, their customers and the public to complete their due diligence and perform a background check on applicants to mitigate risk in their industry and workplaces.

What Is A Cleard.life Qualification?
A Cleard.life background qualification, also known as a Suitability Clearance, is the process whereby an individual is interviewed and an assessment is made as to their honesty, trustworthiness, tolerance, maturity, loyalty and resilience (HTTMLR) – using the character standards set by the Attorney General’s department. With more than 350,000 assessments completed using these standards, it provides an excellent suitability standard to be measured against.

How does the Cleard.life Qualification differ from, say, a National Police Check (NPC)?
In so many ways. For example, the NPC can be incomplete or plain wrong. But during our process, the Candidate gets to explain who, what, when where, why to a Vetting Officer. Therefore our background screening process is inherently more comprehensive than a NPC certificate. Another distinction is that every assessment includes a: 1. Financial check, 2. Criminal check, 3. Mental Health check, 4. Workplace Security Violation check, 5. Drug Use Check 6. Alcohol Use check, 7. Loyalty Check, 8. Personal Conduct Check, 9. Resume Check 10. Eligibility Check.
Will you tell anyone my secrets?
No. Your answers and our analysis of your answers are never disclosed to your sponsoring organisation. We only provide a high-level summary result (from 1 to 5: “For Sure” to “No Way”) – and we may also provide them a ranking from 1 to 5 relating to your honesty, trustworthiness, tolerance, maturity, loyalty and resilience.
